Yin Yoga and Sound Meditation in Vilnius
A slow practice where poses are held for longer, ending with Tibetan bowls and a gong. A good way to slow down after a busy week.
What is Yin yoga?
Yin yoga is a calm, slow style of yoga. Most poses are done sitting or lying down, and each one is held for several minutes. Instead of actively stretching the muscles, we let the body relax and give time to do the work.
Long holds gently work the joints and connective tissue, and the slow pace calms the nervous system. Yin is a good complement to the more active Hatha yoga.
How the class works
The first part is led by yoga teacher Šarūnė: a few long-held poses that let the body fully relax. In the second part, sound master Tomas leads a sound meditation with Tibetan bowls and a gong. The whole practice lasts an hour and a half.
Who Yin yoga is for
- anyone feeling tension, stress or fatigue;
- anyone who wants to improve flexibility without rushing;
- beginners as well as students of more active yoga;
- everyone who wants to rest deeply and sleep better.
Why pair it with a sound meditation
After the long holds the body is already relaxed, so the sound meditation goes even deeper. The vibrations of the bowls and the gong help quiet the mind and bring you into a state of deep rest.
