Yoga for Beginners in Vilnius: Where to Start

You do not need to be flexible or sporty, just willing to spend an hour on yourself. Here is which class to choose and what to expect the first time.

Hatha joga

Which class should I choose first?

The best class for beginners is Hatha Yoga Level I. It is a calmer practice where the teacher explains the poses, helps you find a safe position and shows you how to link movement with the breath.

If you would rather rest than move, try Yin yoga with a sound meditation or a sound bath. No experience is needed for either.

What to expect in your first class

  • Groups are small, up to 13 people, so the teacher can see everyone and help when needed.
  • Poses are done without rushing, and every pose has an easier variation.
  • We pay a lot of attention to breathing and relaxation.
  • After class you are welcome to stay for a cup of tea in the rest room.

How to prepare

  • Clothes: comfortable clothes you can move in. Yoga is practised barefoot.
  • Food: it is best not to eat a big meal for a couple of hours before class.
  • Arrival: come a few minutes early so you have time to change and settle in.
  • Health: if you have an injury or a health condition, tell the teacher before class.

How to book

  1. Choose a time in the schedule below.
  2. Create an account, it takes a minute.
  3. Pay for a single visit or buy a pass.

Your first yoga class at our studio is free.

How often should I practise?

One or two classes a week is enough to start. Regular practice matters more than long sessions: after a few weeks you will notice that you breathe more easily, move more freely and calm down faster. If you come often, the monthly membership is the best value.

If you would like to start one to one, we offer private yoga lessons: the teacher will spend the whole hour with you and help you learn the basics.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be flexible?
No. Flexibility is a result of yoga, not a requirement. Every pose has an easier variation.
Do I need my own mat?
No, you will find mats and other props at the studio.
How much does it cost to start?
Your first yoga class is free. After that a single visit costs €18, and if you come more often, passes and the monthly membership are better value. All prices are below.
