Hatha Yoga in Vilnius Old Town
A slow, mindful practice that brings together poses, breath and attention. Classes run in small groups of up to 13 people in a cosy studio on Gėlių Street.
What is Hatha yoga?
Hatha yoga is one of the oldest and most widely practised styles of yoga. It took shape in India about a thousand years ago. The word “Hatha” joins two syllables: “Ha” (sun) and “Tha” (moon). Together they stand for the balance of opposites: effort and rest, strength and flexibility.
Each practice combines three elements:
- Asanas (poses) strengthen the muscles and improve posture and flexibility.
- Pranayama (breathing exercises) calms the nervous system.
- Meditation helps you bring your attention to the present moment.
Hatha yoga has a slower pace and mindful transitions between poses, so it suits both beginners and experienced students.
